La San Marco partners with the Gambero Rosso Guide

We are proud to announce our partnership with Gambero Rosso as part of the first edition of the Guida ai Caffè e alle Torrefazioni d’Italia — a unique editorial project in the Italian and European landscape, entirely dedicated to coffee excellence in all its forms and supply chains. This collaboration stems from a shared vision: to restore cultural centrality to coffee by celebrating its complexity, quality, and the richness of interpretations that define the Italian coffee scene.

 

What unites La San Marco and Gambero Rosso is the desire to promote espresso culture through tools of high technical and editorial value. The meeting of our technological expertise with the editorial authority of Gambero Rosso has led to a natural synergy, culminating in our role as the official technical partner of the Guide.

 

Official “Espresso Bar Coffee” Tastings Begin at the Gambero Rosso Academy in Rome

 

On May 19, the official tasting sessions began at the Gambero Rosso Academy in Rome, where espresso bar samples are being evaluated in preparation for the selection of Italy’s best roasters. La San Marco equipment is at the heart of each phase of the tasting process: the D. Multi Boiler Variable espresso machine and the On Demand Smart Premium 84F-S-V grinder are essential tools for ensuring accurate and consistent evaluation of aromatic profiles.

 

The sessions are led by two distinguished industry experts: Andrej Godina, PhD in Coffee Science, Technology and Economics, and Mauro Illiano, journalist and coffee expert. Their work aims to highlight not only the quality of the final product but also the stories, techniques, and production philosophies that make each Italian roastery unique.

 

The official release of the Guide is scheduled for autumn and aims to become a new reference point for professionals and coffee lovers alike — a valuable resource to navigate the world of premium coffee, with a strong focus on sustainability, quality, and innovation.
