Roberto Nocera, Managing Director of La San Marco and president of UCIMAC, invited to the Farnesina By Minister Tajani
On October 14, Roberto Nocera spoke in Rome, at the Farnesina, at the invitation of Italy’s
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani. He attended as
President of UCIMAC, the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Professional Coffee
Machines, a member of ANIMA Confindustria, representing the entire sector at the event
“Italy’s International Strategy for Coffee: Development, Value, Partnerships”.
In the Ministry’s International Conference Hall, institutions, international organisations and
key players of the coffee chain discussed how Italian technology, skills and training can
contribute to cooperation with producing countries, also within the framework of the Mattei
Plan. Among the highlighted topics was the development of training centres in partner
African countries.
In his invitation letter, Minister Tajani recognised the contribution of the Italian coffee
equipment and technology industry, identifying in its industrial capabilities, innovation and
international presence a strategic asset for Italy.
“Receiving this invitation from Minister Tajani is a great honour for me and, above all, an
important recognition of the role of the Italian professional coffee machine industry, which I
have the privilege to represent as President of UCIMAC,” said Nocera. “I believe that
international cooperation, training and the exchange of skills are concrete opportunities to
further enhance the contribution of our sector along the entire coffee chain, while promoting
a culture of sustainability that integrates environmental and social responsibility at every
stage of the product’s life cycle.”
Nocera, who is also Managing Director of La San Marco, brought to the discussion the
perspective of machine manufacturers, key players in a chain where Italian excellence runs
from the processing of the raw material to the cup. It is a heritage of technology and skills
that is also part of La San Marco’s own story: founded in 1920 and now part of SEB
Professional, the company has gone from lever machines to the latest multiboiler and digital
solutions.
